Question 1

How much faster is a vacuum brazed core drill than a segmented core drill?

Accepted Answer

In DURO field testing the DDC-RAPIDE vacuum brazed core drill removes material up to 60% faster than professional segmented cores, with no risk of segment loss. Because the diamond is brazed to the barrel it keeps a consistent penetration rate from the first hole to the last, reducing machine load, operator fatigue and airborne dust.

Question 2

Which DURO products help contractors control respirable crystalline silica dust?

Accepted Answer

DURO supplies 10L to 60L dust suppression water tanks, including 20L and 60L battery powered site tanks, plus dry-cutting systems designed to run with on-tool extraction and industrial vacuums. Water feed at the blade or core is the most effective engineering control for silica dust generated by disc cutters, saws and drilling rigs.

Question 3

Are DURO diamond blades independently certified for safety?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DURO diamond blades are produced in oSa member factories, meaning the manufacturing plant is audited against the safety requirements of EN 13236 and EN 12413. DURO operations are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001.

Question 4

Does DURO support distributors and wholesale buyers outside the UK?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DURO works with distributors, hire companies and industrial resellers, providing product training, application support, in-store merchandising, point-of-sale material and technical documentation. Enquiries from new territories are handled through the DURO contact and stockist pages.

Question 5

How do I choose the correct diamond blade specification?

Accepted Answer

Match the blade to the hardness and abrasiveness of the material, the machine type and the cutting method. Soft, abrasive materials such as green concrete, asphalt and block need a harder bond; hard, dense materials such as engineering brick, granite and reinforced concrete need a softer bond with a higher diamond concentration. DURO offers four performance levels so buyers can align blade cost with expected cutting metres.
